Dents and surface rust.

Guess this is the best place for this.

Rust:
I want to sort the surface rust in the arches of the mk2, its not much, but i want to preserve this one as i know i wont find another nova without much rust.
To get an idea of the rust i mean:

I was thinking of just etch primer and then undersealer or stone chip to match the rest of the arch. That a good idea?

Dents:
I want to make my nova look as mint as it is, but all the granny dents let it down, i want to know my options with each panel, as there are dents in the bonnet, quarter, wings and roof. I understand that the only thing i can do with the roof is filler.

What is my best choice on most of the dents?
I belive because of where the dents are in the bonnet my only option is changing it?

Ok, the Rust.

Get a wire brush or sanding block and rub it down dry. They wipe it with a damp cloth to remove all the dust, then when its dry, stone chip/bodyshoot it and that'll seal it. As for the Dents, get a new wing and have a paintless dent rmoval person to have a look at the rest.

It will most likely be more cost effective for all the bolt off pannels to be replaced, rather than try to repair;). As for your roof and quarters, I'd go to a good local bodyshop and ask for a quote. If your nova is mint in all the right places it's worth spending a few quid bringing it up to scratch as good,solid cars are a bit thin on the ground;)

Ye, i think il go and buy some stone chip during the week.

As for all the dents i didnt really want to replace them, Bonnet isnt a prob as i have another. But wings mean new, which i dont want to spend the money on, and i wanted to keep this car as orignal as posssible (O well)

The quarter i was thinking about taking it down a bodyshop but thought i would ask here first, Plus i cant drive it yet (donations anyone? lol)

Fit a set of skirts over the 1/4 panel, it wont be seen and as for the wings, get a decent set 2nd hand. At least that way she'll look mint.

Dent is too high for skirts, i may end up buying new as its going to be a better job that way. The bonnet i have was for my mk1 but meh

Mk1 Bonnest are the same apart from the Hole the Bonnet stay sits into. SO yeah that'll work.
