I built this Nova over the past two years for my brother to race in the Demon Tweeks Yokohama Stock Hatch Championship http://www.750mc.co.uk/F-stock-hatch.php however, due to other commitments he is not racing next year, hence, I am selling the car on his behalf.
This car is completely road legal and has a full years MOT. So not only is it suitable for a racecar, but would probably make a very good tarmac stage rally car as well as an excellent trackcar. The car is a carbon copy of Ian Doughty’s 2006 Class B championship winning car, as I had the opportunity for a very close examination of the car, which the current driver wouldn’t probably be too happy about!

Shell and Safety
1.2 Nova, solid shell, stripped, painted in lotus orange
Still registered with the DVLA as a 1.2, if you intended using on the road you should inform them, it is now effectively a 1600 GSi
Safety Devices MSA registered 6 point rollcage, with door bars, and lots of additional triangulation for greater chassis rigidity and harness bar to make HANS compatible.

4 point ‘road legal’ harnesses
Lifeline Zero 2000 2.5 litre extinguisher – 1 nozzle engine bay discharge (needs a service before you can race with it - £30ish from lifeline)
FIA electrical cutoff switch

Independent Fuel pump cut off
Rain light wiring in place
Brand new GSI fuel tank – with correct baffles
Relocated fuel pump for safety and to reduce fuel surge
Internally run Goodridge braided fuel lines for safety

New front arms, links, balljoints, trackrod ends, GSI antirollbars (front and back)
Koni adjustable front suspension

Custom 600lb 5” rear springs – I also have 2x sets of softer rear springs 300 and 400lbs (I think) which would be more suitable for tarmac rallying or road use – which will come with the car)
Front GSI brakes – later type of calliper and disks (less than 70 miles use)
Braided Goodridge brake lines
Redstuff front pads – I also have a set of new YellowStuff pads that I will throw in with the car
2 x sets of GSi wheels, one set has new Yokohama 539 rubber the other set is the same but used.Engine and transmission
1600 E16SE unit – later GSi Type – low mileage engine – runs so smoothly and quietly all you can hear are the injectors clicking
Balanced bottom end – by Specialised Engines, Essex
New cambelt, water pump, thermostat, tensioner, covers, clutch – Valeo, rebuilt spare box from my old racecar, new driveshaft oil seals
Relocated cooling fan, slimmer and lighter
Downpipe has lamba boss welded in, to allow far better rolling road tuning
OMP Group N exhaust
Oil catch tank and breathersI used to race a very similar Nova in the same championship myself until earlier this year, however, I am moving to classic touring cars next year, and my brother has decided to pursue one of his other hobbies, rather than race next year, hence, the car is up for sale due to a lack of space.
The car is very well built on a strong chassis, however, you should be aware that it has been built as a racecar rather than a showcar.
This car has never been raced. It is a brand new, fresh build! As a rough guide my Nova was capable of lapping Brands Hatch Indy in the 1:01’s and on its last test session before it was sold earlier this year it completely destroyed a 2litre redtop nova. This car is significantly lighter and better put together than my old car, hence, I would expect it to be faster.
The car comes with lots and lots and lots of receipts and probably cost well over £4500 to build with weeks spent building it.

The car is practically ready to race, and all it needs are rear boot pins (which will come with the car) and a rain light to compete in Demon Tweeks Stock Hatch 2009 – you may need a 6 point harness but you would need to check with the championship, needs nothing doing to it to use on the road or for trackdays, not sure about rally use..
