The whole point of putting a K&N on your mota is to draw in more air, but as with everything there is a down side, the problem of the K&N sucking in hot air from the engine and this causes hesitation and stuttering.
I was thinking...could I get a piece of hosing, and a cone filter, and attach one end of the hose to where you usually bolt the K&K on (on carb models) and put the cone filter on the other?
The whole reason for me wanting to do this is so that I can put the cone filter on the end of this hose right close up behind a mesh grille (very close, as in nearly touching it), so that it can suck in cold air from outside when you are stationary, and so it also gets a shit load of cold air when you are driving.
Have any of you done this? Will the fact that the air has got to travel all the way down a hose affect performance? Will it give a louder induction noise? (cos I want it as loud as possible, cos it sounds fucking wicked) and finally?will a piece of hose and a cone filter cost less than a normal bolt on filter?
Cheers lads, I know I?ve asked a shit load of questions?but please have a go at answering them!!!!!
