1.4 and 1.6 xe

would a 1.4 g-box from an astra fit a 1.6 vectra
and would the 1.4 loom and ecu be any good on the 1.6??:confused:

Yes gearbox will fit.

Loom may fit if you play around with swapping stuff over.

ECU is mapped to run a 1600, not a 1400.

yes all the small block gearbox's will be a direct swap (except for older nova's as the f10's have a smaller bell housing)

the 16xe will run fine on the 14xe ecu and loom but you wont get the full potential out of the engine, will run fine just have a few flat spots here and there, and a little sluggish at high revs. but it works fine lol

it would affect fuel delivery if the ecu thinks its a 1.4

I dont know what sensors etc differ between the engines, but if your plugging a 1400 ecu and loom into a 1.6 the readings etc are going to differ to what they should, why not just stick with a 1400 or 1600?
