Right I have a full set of SR Door strips but they've wrinkled. I know this is due mainly to the fact that theres an Aluminium strip behind them, but I need to know if these are still usable? If I remove the strip, will they straighten out and fit alright or are they worthless?

Dod, pulling the strips off usually permanently bends the alloy strips, and so rendering them useless. I used to use a large thin bladed craft knife to cut them off, if i wanted to re-use them.

So even with the removal of the Alu strips they're no good? Can they be bought new or anything?

Nothing to lose from giving it a try i suppose! the rubber also tends to stay curled too, try keeping some weight on them for a couple of days. Iirc they're nls at vauxhall.

Ugh!! Not so good them. I was gonna leave them on the rads in the house to see if the heat'd persuade tem to lay flat, and if the Aluminium strips were removed it may help but I know what you mean about the rubber bending and not taking its shape. Fingers crossed!!

try masking the car above and below the bump stripped stick them on with plenty glue and tape them to the car untill it dries :thumb: just an idea

Yeah but if it all goes wrong I'm left with a shed load of Glue stuck to the paint work.

Anyone got an unbent set for sale?

I stuck them back on mine (after removing the alu strip) with no more nails double sided tape, no issues. I never reallised at the time they had the alu in them. Dod give it a bash on a spare door/roof skin etc?

Tigerseal ftw. Bodyshop used some to stick one of mine back on when a front wing was replaced. Impossible to remove when I tried to de-strip it lol
