according to the dictionary, a valet is a gentleman's manservant..........& is pronounced 'valay'

look at it this way:
how many people need this sort of service???
how many people are doing it already???
how much is the going rate????
will you get any corporate work????
apart from your mates, have you asked anyone else???
how much will you need to turn over to make a profit as opposed to a living???

will you be able to start it part time, cos the money will be tight...

are you sure you want to be starting such a business when money is tight & the weather is crap, and people's minds are on other things, such as the cost of motoring & christmas shoppping etc....

I am not trying to put your idea down in any way, but these are the sort of questions you need to ask yourself & answer before trying to start a business.

if you do your homework & there is a definite need, then go for it

Regardless of whether it's a good idea or not, do you need a bank loan to be able to start the venture?

That's what you'll need to be covering plus your living expenses. As mowgli says can you start it part-time so if it does fail you've got something to fall back on.

I'd advise speaking to some mobile valeters for some advice. Try detailing world or on www.migweb.co.uk is a user called THE VALET MAN who may be willing to give you some advice.

The little kids around my way have it sewn up. If you are <10 y/o you can even get away with dropping the sponge/brillo pad/dish cloth etc and getting gravel scratches on the car.

Tbh mate it sounds like you have made this idea up on the spot.

Have you actually done any real research? As Breenys sugested look in your local freeads or yellow pages to see how many competitors you will have, even go to them and have a look around, see how many cars they have in blah blah

Tbh if i was thinking of starting a business up at this moment in time i would want to be 110% sure it would be a success.

Not being mean but you dont want it going down the pan do you.
