Over the past couple of days my screen/graphics have been playing up, i cant explain what it looks like but its sort of grainy and when i scroll down a page, either using the mouse or the bar on the page, it refreshes down the screen :confused:

Im not sure if you will be able to see it in the pic?

Ive tryed system restore to a point before it was playing up and i have also downloaded and installed the latest drivers for my graphics card.

It is a Radeon x800 xt

Thats overheating or memory failure on the graphics card. Take it out and make sure the fan spins freely, and clean all of the dust off the card.

Um i dont have a disk for it.

Ive tryed looking for help on teh net but all i can find is people who have had the same problem but they have had on-board graphics, so the system auto defaults to the on-board, mine doesnt have any so it has nothing to default to therefore i cant see anything to install the driver for the new card.

Go on the Radeon website? I have cleaned up the old card (it does work but just gets like the pics when its been on for more than 5mins, the dust had blocked all the cooling fins so the fan couldnt blow the air throught them but its all clean now) and i have put it back in the pc and it still doesnt show anything but this is because i have removed the driver/software.

Is there a way i can download the driver on this other pc and burn it to a disk and then put it in the broken machine and install it like that? bearing in mind i cant see the screen?

If you cant see anything on screen then you havent put the card back in correctly, or its given up properly.

So it would work without the drivers installed? I also have a card i used in my old pc, ive tryed that and its the same? So if i was to get a new card it would work?

^ Yup, windows should at least be able to output a VGA display through it.

Sounds like the card is fubar-ed. I'd try reseating it, make certain there's no dust in the slot as well!
