Baisacly wana know what sort of power ppl are geting out of ther xe with mods?also whos got the biggest bhp on here wiv an xe?

Thinking about it..... I imagine Will Foys John toovey xe motor is one of the most powerful on here, But there is a fair few that are running a genuine 200 plus on here as well. Most use Tb's then well spec'd pistons, cams, steel inner gear ++++++ to achieve it etc. Around 230bhp is achievable if you have deep pockets but most would rather go to an c20let instead as its cheaper to run similar power.

Standard xe + big shot of nitrous=250bhp
The green VS nova

Will F/Lee probably have the highest spec throttle bodied xe's on here.
Adam morans was 220+bhp too, but broken for parts now afaik.

Adam

Adam
09-09-08, 11:04 PM
You need mega revs for 240-250bhp(8.5-9k rpm)

Do you have high cr forged pistons?

nova 2L 16V
09-09-08, 11:07 PM
no but i spoke to jeff at autosprint and hes built meny xes wiv his pistons wiv deep cuts and thay can handle the 9000rpm thats why i bought them.what u think?

nova 2L 16V
09-09-08, 11:08 PM
plus the engine has been made to handle the high reving i think lol well should hope so for 4500

MC

CP has an engine dyno result of 230bhp......from his 16XE! I think Broster has a similar output if not marginally higher. You big block boys want to aim higher!

mr nova_2l_16v, you want to stop text typing ;)

SBD say a lot of things about their kits.... its in a perfectly clincal setup Dyno to get theose numbers (with good mapping too, not the mapping they put on the kit ECU's as not everyones engine is the same in terms of combustion stability etc).

To rev near 9k which is where ytou will need to be revving for a genuine 245+ you will need a steel crank and dry sump kit.

295 cams are no good either, you are looking at at duration over 300

Autosprint are rubbish, get some Cat Cams made.

Judging by your posts you are a chav though, so buy an iduction kit and a power boost valve and tell everyone that you have over 200!

lol

lol lol lol

Cheers for the mention Stooooo but I'm under 200bhp @ 197.7 lol

No nitrous anymore either, gaygas has been removed.

Will - lol lol lol

so well me why has my mate got 206bhp with only sbd compleat throttle bodie kit and a 4-1 exhaust manifold. as for been a chav thats out of order, how many chavs do you know that work for the council?**** this site, never had a problem like this at mig so i think il stick with them lol

nova 2L 16V
10-09-08, 07:40 PM
induction kit and a boos valve,iv actualy spent proper money on top noch stuff, the bodies alone where 750 pounds thats with out the filter and backing plate.dont understand some people

I cannot speak for Will totally, but I presume the chav comment was purely down to your attitude, and your typing.

You first ask "who has the record" and "who can i beat"

Followed by the contined text speak, you have a keyboard infront of you - so why not type properly? you are not restricted to 160 characters...

Stuart
10-09-08, 08:26 PM
it does depend on the rollers accuracy too you know ;)
Also which kit did he buy?

AlanH
10-09-08, 08:50 PM
looks like some setup that, bodies look the nuts. lots of different things affect power given on rollers and no 2 types of r.r's give the same reading.

You can speak for me if you like! lol

Spot on though.

I know a few chavs that work for the council actually, but that is inded besides the point.

Like Olly said, its your attitude/typing that is screaming "I am a 16 year old who has copied and pasted a spec from another site"

my english writing is not very good as i am welsh and i didnt take much notice to the english subject in school so i just find it easier to write in tex then at least i dont have to be enbarised if i write a simple word wrong.hope people can understand that. and my friend bought the 2000 pounds kit baisacly 45mm throttle bodies, inlet, trumpets, ecu, loom, and some other little stuff.then he bought a 4-1 manifold from them.

So you're Welsh big deal so are a number of people on hear and they still manage to type words rather than letter and numbers.

so i just find it easier to write in tex then at least i dont have to be enbarised if i write a simple word wrong.hope people can understand that.

See above, no I can't understand that, I would much rather you attempt to use the Queens English with full words, full stops and capital letters than typing u instead of YOU.

and my friend bought the 2000 pounds kit baisacly 45mm throttle bodies, inlet, trumpets, ecu, loom, and some other little stuff.then he bought a 4-1 manifold from them.

What ECU and who mapped it?

P.S thousands of pounds poorly spent does not equal a good engine

so tell me what would you of spent 3500 pounds on a xe.

TBs are a good start. The rest could be spent on 'freshening up' the old lump.

To get anywhere near 240-250, you would need around £8-10k depending on who built it up...

it shouldnt be about power mate, as im sure you have seen the nova on you tube punching out 660bhp....

I have a XE built out of SBD Kit, to be honest the kit is good but over priced, for half the money i spent on my XE i could have bought ready built running Turbo XE with 300BHP easy..

To me its about buiding a car you can enjoy and yeah kick some ass but shouting who can i beat and who has the most power dont mean you will indeed beat them, just makes you sound not chavvy but a tad chav like...

Good luck with your setup, but if you wish to run the BHP Figures you claim, your going to need to spend alot more money on parts you missed off the list.

bad first post sorry lol,

no way you'll be getting this numbers on a propper roller.

this should mean that i'm looking at 190 hp with my chipped ecu (8000 rpm), 280 schrick cams and a 5kg flywheel.

nova 2L 16V
11-09-08, 10:08 PM
i think il end all this by saying that im gona finish the engine see what bhp it puts out and its been a learning thingh for me.iv always wanted to build a c16xe turbo so lets see what happens.o any one wana make me an ofer for my shell?

I'm thinking your very lucky to have them funds.I've been saving up for ages (Not saying you never had to work for that sort of money at all by the way) and I love seeing what can be done when lots of time, money and effort is put into making a build.

Most people I would guess are similar:love viewing this sort of work and reading about how you have done it.Its not a competition at the end of the day its a hobbie.

Best of luck with it.It sounds to me you have a very nice spec engine and I would love to have that any day.

I've only just made me brew

You need to relax a bit and take everything with a pinch of salt.

Just been having a look at JamieF's old spec and he was running 284 inlet and 276 exhaust cams.

P.S thousands of pounds poorly spent does not equal a good engine

And Thousands of pounds spent correctly on a engine built properly does not equal a good engine.

Although you have probably never spent thousands on c20 only on a 1.2....

before having a go, look at his project thread

http://www.pngclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=101493

personally, I'd have spent a lot more time at this stage on getting everything else done, brakes, suspension etc, but the stuff does look nice....
