The local Yobs here do similar with the scanners after commiting a crime. They use the scanners to locate the chasing Cops and better their escape plan.

Yeh Dod, some of the local yobs round here have the same thing. Intresting listening - although I think its illegal. One night I heard one of my friends get pulled over!

not expensive, i picked one up for 25quid, wasnt a scanner just a large radio tuner, had all bands/frequencies though, cb radio shops do them cheap, u can hear ANYTHING, even planes etc! theyr cool but get boring after about 5minutes

now if you could talk back AT them! now that would be abit more entertaining, of all the things i could do i would probably put out a wanted message for myself then when they get me i would SUE SUE SUE haha, i wouldnt really, im afraid im not a compensation kind of guy, far too honest!

when the still used the old network here (with you could listen to with a scanner) we went to rotterdam, and did a day of 'scanner driving' .

great fun, the most stupid things happen lol woman chasing her husband, car hitting tram etc.

my best mates boss used to drive around with his mates and they all had CB radios, i think it ws blackpool they were driving around one day hurling abuse at each other when a bloke from a local arcade ran out shouting his head off, the arcade used the same channel for its broadcasts haha everything they had been saying was just playing out to all the family etc

Aye a mate of mine had a scanner years back, used to get the emergency services. Sure it's all scrambled now though (UK)

The 5-0 responses aren't 187's and the like though, missing bikes and kids tagging walls :S lol
