Yes its getting chemically cleaned, it goes through a process which includes acid dipping & once complete they are going to etch prime it.
The cost is £850+vat for dipping and etch priming, it is a little pricey but so much easier than sanding & scraping, also any corrosion is removed from inside box sections, inside seams & panels so you dont have to do it all again in a few years time.
They can e-coat which is electrostatically dip priming but that was very expensive, approx another £450+vat! but they gurantee it for 15 years.
They had other shells there including a GT40, E Type Jag, TR7 etc.
They are taking photos of the process so I will get them posted as soon as its back if everything goes OK

I am using a brand new body shell that has been in storage for a while, it had been painted but it was a crap job & was flaking off so rather than rub it all down I thought I would start from scratch. It will also make sure there is no corrosion lurking in the box sections or seams etc.
Will let you know how it turns out, knowing how crap Nova metal is it will prob resemble a piece of Kit Kat foil by the time they have done!!!

Decs will be hard to beat, will be happy if its as good as Decs but I always try to have the best. Yes, I do have a brand new shell!

I agree i though the astra wheels looked a little out of place when compared to the rest of the car
