Currently i have a list of places to use for weld in cages. Has anyone any experiences good or bad of the following places and there roll cages:
1. Fabricage,
2. Harry Hockly,
3. Custom Cages,
4. Rollcentre.
Any of them better than the rest. Prices are all similar but rollcentre are cheapest but have a long lead time.
alot of people on here say custom cages are a very good cage and at very good prices.

Custom Cages are the only ones on your list I have direct experience of using, they are certainly good.
But have you looked into using 'Caged' in Wiltshire? Edit, they are now based in Frome, Somerset. Their Website is; http://www.therollcagepeople.com/
I know a lot of people who have used them and been well pleased.

Fabricages stuff has always looked top notch to me.... Not much help.
Are you asking for a cage recommendation or someone to supply & fit it Rick?

£500ish +Vat for a load of tubes.
Ive had a rollcenter cage, with larger main hoop, realy was an awsome fit!, are you looking to run normal seat belts? as the cage i had was so snug to the car it did not allow for regular belts, harness only! unlike a few cages ive seen
Thought you had a cage?
Bring your car down to the farm, we have tubular steel and a bender (and I'm not talking about MC, lol). We'll sort it out for you ;)

I do jim but i have a corsa now!
Rang rollcentre and there cages dont have profiled ends so thats that one ruled out.
Custom Cages everytime!! And slightly biased as a Custom Cages cage saved me from pretty much certain death!
EDIT: Just to add, its not just down to the cage manufacturer all though, its down to the fitting & welding where the strength is.

I agree. But i dont want to be ****ing around with a cage that needs the ends profiling etc.

This very apt as i am now having to rebuild my rally car.
I have run a Nova with a normal Safety devices cage which did the job perfectly well. Then changed the Nova to another one only this time with a Pilbeam cage which al be it still a 6 point cage was a lot better(also now up for sale) with a larger dia tube better fixing points. I instanly felt better rallying with this cage.
Well now i am having to change things again. So starting from scratch. having looked at what is avilable and on recomendation from various other competitors i am going with Custom cages Multi point weld in cage. plus the guy who is fitting the cage will not fit any other type cage. and having seen what these cages can withstand i am more than happy to go with these types of cages.
I would say but the very best you can afford and then pay abit more because you just never know when you might have to put it to the test. It might make the difference from no or minor injury to some thing a lot more serious

I wouldn't recommend Harry Hockley I had my old Nova booked in waiting for months to have a weld in cage fitted only to have it cancelled a couple of days before it was meant to go in. I used Safety Devices in the end which did an awesome job although I don't know wether they supply and fit anymore? Currently have a bolt in Fabricage which is very good and very good helpful service so would recommend them also heard a lot of good things about custom cages.
Dave.
