View Full Version : redtop dizzy to coil pack??
a few of you's may remember asking about putting a redtop in a ford and ive decided to have a go at putting it in a capri as a winter project.
the redtop ive got is a dizzy type, to change it to coil pack what will i need this is what ive thought of is there any thing ive missed??
ECU
loom
coil pack
ignition module
cam sensor (will i need the cam aswel??)
air flow meter (not sure if this matters??)
if you's could tell me what else thats would be great
cheers :)
Add to the list:
Throttle body and TPS
Intake temperature sensor
Exhaust cam shaft/Sensor
Air flow meter as its different
And 3bar fuel pressure reg
i have the camshaft, throttle body with all sensors intact, still on inlet manifold with fuel rail, injectors and pressure regulator. 25 quid plus postage. if i can find the coilpack and bracket i'll chuck them in too
total bargain mate, he'll be stupid not to buy it at that price. infact ill have it if gabbo doesnt lol.
as said above but in a full list heres what is needed.
Loom
Ecu
Airflow meter
Blue injectors
3bar fpr
TPS
IAT
Exhaust cam with pick up bolted to the end
Cam position sensor/dizzy blanking plate
coilpack
ignition amplifier
a new intake pipe to house the IAT sensor.
You need the throttle body too/\
A late TPS dont fit the dizzy tb.
i've had both and they interchanged. lol on one of the TPS's the screw holes are slotted and on the other it isnt but other than that it was a straight swap
I have both too,hmmm.
Pretty sure i couldn't get the new tps onto the old style tb.
Will have another look tomorrow. Or maybe it does fit but the position is wrong, so it doesn't give a correct throttle reading?
Sure i read there was a reason you couldn't swap them
could have been a third one maybe lol, like the early non cat 20xe in the older astra gte's. or maybe the astra gsi one with traction control might have a slightly different TB or TPS lol
they dont fit, as i tried ages ago..
