removing the clocks

how do i get the clocks out of my mk1 dash? it does come out by about an inch and then something gets stuck and wont let me pull the clocks out any further...would this be the loom

yea, they are a bit awkward but they do come out. If you can get them out enough, you need put your hand behind and unclip the speedo cable and dash loom..

Try to get the heater bit out of the centre of the dash, I have a Mk2 and that helped, not sure if it would be the same with a Mk1 though.

open the bonnet and push the speedo cable into the car this will give you just enough room to get your hand in

you pull it out as far as you can & then twist it round then get your hand in to undo the speedo cable, then you have to struggle it out a bit more to get the connectors off & finally get it past the wheel.

I think taking the steering wheel off 1st is easier.
