Heater matrix?

I have had a problem in my mk2 recently. I need to keep filling up the coolent. I have also noticed that my passenger side tray, under the dash slowly fills up with water. I think these are linked. Could this be the heater matrix going, and if so how do you get it out. I originally thought that it was a leaking windscreen! :roll:

Sounds like a possible leak from one of the heater hoses.
Best thing you can do is to check your matrix. The matrix is stored in front of the gearbox inside the black plastic housing. You'll need a small screwdriver (can't remember exact size), to unscrew it and disconnect matrix.

Think one test is to blow into one of the matrix hose points and check for leaks that way.
