Little while back, i posted about my 1.2SPi randomly cutting out and not wanting to start again, then suddenly jumping back into life as if nothing was ever wrong, until the next time it would completely shut off. It was diagnosed as an ignition problem, and i recently got and fitted a new Ignition amplifier, as i heard they are prone to causing problems. But that hasn't solved it. What's the next step? New ignition coil?

if its an spi then it will have a crank sensor. i know that when these start to fail they build up static and cause the problems youve said. might be worth a check

Nova spi's dont have a crank sensor.

Id put money on the distributor or its plug been knackered. (thats how the ecu "sees" the engine rotating)

is it likely that all this ignition stuff would go at the same time? because the ignition amp was tested and was apparently definitely faulty? how likely is it that other things are faulty too, all at the same time!?
