hi all, im on building a c20xe powered nova on twin 40 webers. the car started life as a 1.2 expression and had been fitted with a 1.4 sr engine with pierburg carb and 4 speed box when i swapped my 98 megane coupe for it. ran the car for 2 months then took it off the road after it breaking down every week. the original plan was to drop an xe in that i had already bought and just run it like that but upon inspection the shell turned out to be nowhere near as clean as i first thought. i stripped the engine/box/harness full interior and wiring out then it lay idle for a while as i didnt have the time or cash to do anything with it. i started getting going with it again a few months ago, the engine has since been stripped and is 50% rebuilt, all painted, lightened/balance rods with A.R.P. bolts, shells etc. and painted block. i'm on fitting new valve stem oil seals then i'll start putting the engine back together. engine bay has been fully seam welded and i'm currently fitting a new front crossmember (just front skin) and front panel. i have bought a set of twin 40 webers with the intention of fitting them. i still need to buy an inlet manifold to suit and i'm buying my ignition setup from h&h ignition solutions next week with a rev limited rotor arm and silicone leads as well as a jet kit to suit my engine. i still need to buy a fuel pump and pressure regulator, cams will be sent away for reprofiling as soon as i receive my dizzy exhaust cam (engine was originally coilpack). finally have the cash put away to finish so plan to be getting a lot more done with it over the next few weeks and am hoping to have it finished by november including respray and M.O.T. pictures to follow and updates.

got a bit further with the car now. h&h ignition setup is ordered awaiting delivery, as is my fuel pump, regulator/filter and 4-1 manifold courtesy of colin (novarally) jets have arrived for carbs and have one rejetted already. bought new bottom arms and balljoints and got a set of 256mm cross drilled/ vented discs with pads/calipers/hubs courtesy of tom beverley. front crossmember is welded on, inner wing repaired right at the front (few inches square, butt welded so shouldn't be noticable) and have had front panel trial fitted with bonnet and wings on so ready to drill and weld now then i can get bay painted and drop the motor in.
need to find the lead for digicam, phone pics suck.

Hi mate,

Were you using autosprint 288 cams?? how have you got on? I have standard pistons but want best cams. Any advice would be appreciated from your experience.

Cheers
