View Full Version : Tuning 2002 Astra van
My mate has just acquired one of these it is a 1.7dti 16v and he says it should only have 75 bhp but feels quicker, he was wanting to up the boost/fuelling but maybe it has already been done?
Anyone got a guide/link on what to do?

the vauxhall td engine is made of toffee and melt if you do much to them
Glad it's not mine then lol He doesn't want to go crazy, just free it up a bit. As said though it sounds like it may already be running a little more power.
has he started with the normal stuff like exhaust and filter?
No mate, nothing at all yet, just says it feels quicker than one he has driven previously. I want a go, maybe the other was a dog? lol You would know if a 75bhp van felt like it had a bit more go though I reckon.
the thing with diesels is it depends how it was driven from new. you are spose to thrash diesels when you first get them to free the up properly or they will forever be slow.
Well that could be part of it, it has been a works van all of its life lol
