View Full Version : Fan keeps blowing the fuse?
Soon as I turn on my heater/ blower fan it blows the fuse? it was a 10amp fuse, so tried a 15 and still blew straight away. Anyone have any idea why?

try unpluging the blower motor under the bonnet and see if the fuse still blows.

Sounds like its shorting out somewhere. Are the connections pushed right on the switch and at the blower end?
Have the wires been cut/extended and not joined or insulated properly?

I had one do the very same thing a few years ago, turned out the brushes in the motor were worn out, replacing it sorted it.
I had the same thing and it turned out the fan was siezed.
Check that it spins freely.
Just an idear.....

yeah that happened me, turned out the bearing was seized on the fan, wd40 and a blowtorch fixed it
also check the speed control resistor, when they go wrong, they short out & blow fuses.
