Diesel smoke types?

Hi. I am new to diesels so would like to know what the different smoke is all about.

Puff of black smoke on acceleration?

Greyish smoke on startup?

I have non of these on mine, but see them on others and don't know why it happens.

black smoke= overfueling, very common nowadays with a tuning box fitted.

Grey when cold= unburnt diesel, purely because the engine isn't hot enough to burn it cleanly.

PE4 with tuning your diesel you want to be seeing some black smoke on full boost. this unfortunetly means lots and lots of smoke off boost which can be fun lol
