Fitted this the other day and started it tonight and its overfuelling like crazy?!
I can see petrol in one of the holes where the butterflys are and 1 is filling up the other normal. When i take the fuel line off it spurts across the garage.Have i connected up something wrong? Is there a fuel adjustment anywhere? Also this is causing it to misfire like fukk aswell. Please help!!!

Tis indeed err hendrix, (thats wierd im used to calling you andy but will get rather confuddling if i do) is this a swap the jets job then or is there a way he can turn the fuel down?

hendrix

I'd say it needs re-jetting. The 1.5 was running around 106bhp

The guy at Barnetby top did Al's race car. Can't remember their name though.
Straight down a15 for you. He'll set it up on the rollers too.
Not sure on prices though

Yeah nbut the car is off the road for winter but if we/andy can source jets and get fitted then its one less thing to do when she is back otr!

hagger

Is the return line plumbed in with a T-piece to the feed line?

Spudly
03-09-08, 12:02 PM
Err possibly not as he was having a look at haggers SR prior to fitting and his is jus blanked off on the return line!

The return should be T'd into the feed line before the carb.

Common error with Weber 32/34's.

aye mines not t peiced, and runs sweet as a nut

Spudly
03-09-08, 12:04 PM
Oh right cos mikey14SR set haggers up iirc and he said just to block it off so im guessing andy has done the same too!

hagger
03-09-08, 12:06 PM
saying that, im sure mikey said sometines ya t-piece it or sometimes you dont. maybe if he trys and t-peices it will down the pressure, causing it not to overfuel....

mikey14sr

Mine was t-pieced at first, untill I took it all apart and broke the t-piece when building up the 1400 engine, that's when I fitted the blanking bolt. I got a pressure regulator and turned it down just in-case, but when Boggy checked the pressure properly it was bang-on without the reg. I never had a problem with the carb flooding at all.

I've long since thrown away the bit of paper I jotted my final jet sizes on, but I seem to remember the idle jets being 55/60, and mains 155/185, but bear in mind that was a 1400 with a 285 camshaft.

That's in-line with what mine were before boggy had a play with it, the only things we changed were the idle and main jet sizes iirc. My secondary main jet though was marked as a 155, but when we checked with a set of jet drills we couldn't even get a 130 to fit in it, Boggy did mention that he'd had an ever increasing amount weber jets being under-size over the past 10 years, and was now at the point where if he was buying new ones, he'd always buy the smallest he could get and drill them out his-self to the right size.

Jus to go back to andys other problem of a dodgy misfire around 4k what do peeps think of these two pics, first the coil doesnt look too clever so im thinking this might be affecting spark if its nobbed, and can anyone see anything untoward in the engine bay on the second one?
Cheers for any help and advice offered guys and gals :thumb:
