as alot of you will know, i am building a nova raly car..i am worrying that i wont be able to put it through an mot when its finished though..please help me!

the shell is a 1992 j plate, it had a catalic convertor and lamda sensor as standard..

now as its a rally car i am putting a 1400 16v on throttle bodies/bike carbs or webbers, so i will be doign away with lamda..

i am happy to have a standard exhaust system with cat just for mot purposes but will this be enough to get it through the emission test??

can anyone shed some light on this please as i am worrying that i get the car built and cant get it through an mot.

cheers

Greg

If its on TB's with stand alone management, can't you just load an MOT friendly map just for MOT's?

If it was registered before August '92 it shouldn't need a cat for the MOT emissions test. Check the logbook to see when it was registered.

J is still a bit of hit and miss.
Some are the old carb engines, and others were fitted with the newer spi's.

J-reg should be fine with no cat on it.

No carb'd engine novas had cats
