colin Mcrae rally nova

Hi all, ive just joined the site and have a A reg nova in which im trying to build a rally replica of colins group A car. At the moment ive only managed to find 2 images on google,can anyone help me find a spec list or more images of this car, thanks.

I doubt it. the original mcrae one spent a lot of its time on its roof, it was never an original sport, but a 1.3 with a sport kit fitted. someone said it was a replica built up for the tribute

i think there would always have been more than one, as there is one in the opel headquarters in Germany, thats all i know about it. ive got a rally rollcage already and am trying to source the wheels at the mo. thanks for the help.

Yes that was a replica at Autosport, it was originally a 1.3SR. The original car(If you can call it original with the many shells it will have had) was broken by Jason Lepley a number of years ago as my friend had the Hockley exhaust off it. I enquired a while later to see if he had the ID for the car but he had sold it on:(

me dad used too be a mecanik for saltford motors back in the day mcrae's rival was warren another bloke who used the 1.3sr (''sport'') he used the nova when he was well no good he won 1 out of 6 rallys one year and warren won the other five but they both moved on to skoda and peugout warren had to stop rallying because he could not get the time off of work and colin stuck at it shame really for warren could have made it just as big if not bigger i have got some pics of warrens nova when my dad drove it to a show one year if anybody intrested also some german mantas and asconas up on the lift being repaired

Colin Mcreas most recent "Genuine" (to use a phrase) Rally Nova is actually kept at his house (which his dad now owns) along with nearly all his previous cars from teenage years to present :thumb:

The 'replica' at the autosport show is a restored (read reshelled yet again) car on the original reg that Colin bought back a couple of years ago, same with his old Talbot. Alister and Jim then took control of making sure the Nova got finished after Colin died

ive been thinking of making a replica for some time. if i can find a A reg nova i will most certainly do it, no matter how much it cost's me.

Anyone no of any engine mods on Colin's Nova ??

I think it was a standard 1.3 SR engine with 40's and in one of the video's I seen it had the Nova Sport / Irmscher UK airbox fitted

dont think it was standard..

it was a 1300 sport/sr engine but sure it was modified. dont know exactly what was done though..
