right started off early saturday morning when a water pipe split and drained my water ( radiator to thermostat). luckily i managed to fix the pipe and get it home without it overheating. when i started the car sunday morning it smoked out the exhaust on stand still, but clears when you drive. also it is missing a little.. the water light comes on all the time and i have to refill, so im guessing its loosing water somewere. i thought head gasket but the car still runs the same, not down on power or anything, also cant find any oil or anything in header tank. mate told me to tip some k-seal in with the water see if that does anything, so did that and i dont have the missfire any more, theres a slight bit of smoke still. but im still loosing water and its overheating alot. ive had the thermostat off and that works fine.. and now i have a leak of petrol or oil dripping from somewhere.. not been looking good this weekend. just wondering if anyone could point me to anything??

thanks..

What colours the 'smoke' from the exhaust ? does the header tank presurise at all ? Have you had the spark plugs out to see how there looking ?

its like a white smoke. had all the plugs out and they look clean and how they should be. yeh the header tank does presurise..

Yep !!

The white smoke will be steam from water entering the cylinders and getting blown out the exhaust and the pressure from the cylinders will be pressurisin the water system, gonna need a headgasket replacing at the least.

I wouldn't keep starting it, it aint gonna fix itself !!
Get the head removed and check the damage, not to bad to do in a Nova, remove the exhaust manfold then lift the headoff with the inlet still attatched, bit tight but easily doable.

yeh cheers for the advice fella, only started it because of a mate saying about the k-seal stuff might sort it out if it was just the head gasket. its in my calibra by the way, ive just done all the gaskets on my nova let. never come across any head problems thats why i was unsure but now im just going to whip it off and check like you say.
thanks again mate..
