View Full Version : Wheel/Tyre size on a let 15/16"??
:D Hi all
I've just purchased a nova let that is running on 16's" at the moment (has proxies on it). The chap I bought it off took me out in and and it was struggling for grip in 4th (road was a little damp) It has 195/45/16's on it and i'm looking at changing the tyres for some r888's?? but can't seem to find any in that size? Would I be best changing to 15's and running them with r888 195/50/15's.
Any help/advice would be great.

I agree. 195/50/15" FTW. Cheap(ish) readily available & not overly harsh like a 45 might be, yet so closely sized.
lol tyres will not make much difference to a let in the damp lol
Agree, can see how fitting a bigger profile tyre will improve traction, maybe a wider tyre, I thought it would just improve ride and I wouldn't expect a set of R888s to last long as a road/daily use tyre

Sorted camber & tracking will all help.
Then get a diff if you havent already.

I had 16" speedlines on mine with proxes, changed to some compo 15"s with Yoko paradas and ive never had grip like it. It just grips and grips, they are awesome. However i dont drive it in the wet as its a bit pointless.

I was supprised when it happened in 4th though :D car has had camber and suspension set-up done and has a diff. Been use to 4wd, so looking forward to some fun times ahead.
Anyway, will be trying some 15'S and 888's. Car isn't a daily driver and will do about 3k a year.
