http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn299/Nova_Loon/6bbd_12.jpgrite i want to star a GTE project so i am going to go buy a nice Mk1 nova get all the gte bumpers and bit but put a gsi engine in to it as i have bin told the gsi engine is a better engine and got the whole car spray this color do you fink it wood be a good project

the gte/gsi engine is the same.

very late 93registered GSi's came with a c16se not the e16se which is the same power etc just used a different ignition setup.

yip, would be a nice project. have a genuine GTE myself. if you do do it, dont colour code the skirts and bumper extensions - looks utter garbage!

Amen to that man, ive just acquired a GTE and its had all the grey trim painted black to match the car and imo it looks chav lol, so thats all comin off:)

Afaik the engine in both GTE and GSi is that same until the very late GSi`s (as paul already stated) but they all had cats on em (GSi`s) so out of the box are slower than a GTE!

think youll find most gte's had cats too.

only reason gte's are fractionally slower is cause they are slightly heavier.

Ya sure cos theyre pre-1992 so therefore before the days when even your dog has to have a cat on it lol, back when volvos had "katalysor" badges on the back as if it were something special lol
