Just found this site:

You can check if your car is indeed insured on a particular day. More interestingly if that car over the road from you is insured too! (although you do have to tick a box stating you are only searching on a car you own).

should see whos the first to find an uninsured car about the streets lol

Mine shows as insured, but as a reliant robin lol. I'll be checking with admiral to get it fixed once my flux policy runs out.

Thought you all knew about this! Been using this for ages. I found out that my neighbour wasnt insured because of there private plate!

your either going to get tugged very soon for no insurace... or your going to have to remove a front wheel and get a fat bloke to counetr balance it lol

mines on the database as a nova gte,so no problems there and also before i logged inot png just i thought id do a hpi check on some other site and al is confirmed that my car is all clear as in never been stolen bumped etc so:D

the MID (motor insurance database) is the basic tool that most insurers feed into and the police use.
It also links into the dvla task disc purchasing website

However there are occasions when your car wont show on or you cant buy a tax disc but you are still insured - for example -
if you call your insurer and add a temporary vehicle on the policy - the temp vehicle will supercede your car.

odd but true...
