Hey guys, after abit of help.
I just bought myself another nova project but am having trouble trying to sort the brakes.
It has vectra discs and calipers at the front
and rear discs from an astra 16v
but i was wandering do you think the standard gsi servo is powerfull enough
to aid the brakes as they dont seem great
plus i need a new handbrake cable but unsure
what cable to get.
Any ideas would be great
Cheers
Nathan
The servo only helps you push the pedal it dosnt help the brakes themselves

Oh really, ok that helps
but still need info on handbrake cable if anyone can help.
Also why would brakes operate differently as one pulls more than the other?

Provided the gemoetry is correct, it could be different pads on either side, contaminations on the pad or disc, or a duff caliper.

Kinked hose.
[edit] Take the old cables to a motor factors, most parts books have sizes, match them up with lengths etc.
Mine has a long Nova cable & short one from a mk2 Cavalier.
Hi Howell.
I'd suggest replacement discs and pads and probably even Fluid. Bleed them properly with an easy bleed kit and see how it goes from there. If they still play up, its Calipar changing time mate.
Also, for the pease of mine more than anything, try a Cavalier SRi style Servo and Master Cylander. I've known Novas with rear Discs and small MS and Cylanders to fail at stopping the car at all.
