Have u ever thought of changing servers for the forum? Compared to others its quite slow!

For eg. try

Im on 600k cable modem and its still fairly slow!

Ill have a look about for sumwhere to mount it if your willing?

Do u run it off ur own bandwidth atm?

isnt novaload connected via a 1mb per second connection?

and besides - i have no problems with it on my 56k connection, 64k ISDN at mates house or the T1 connection at work.

its not a bandwidth problem as ive said before,

Im currently building a new server which will make it more responsive, the main problem is that its a 500mhz desktop processor, you might think "yea thats ok for a webserver" but the site makes lots of calls to the database and the CPU sometimes Max's out...

err yeah... very nice.
strangely enough though this was no faster than novaload.

even when i hit refresh once it was cached.

Is there some sort of database that you can get from somewhere to run forums with then??? because that link that moo gave looked very similar to N/L

well when the new servers built it will be so much more responsive, but as far as Im aware its ok for now...

Im also gonna run it on Linux instead of Windoos which will make more efficient use of the system...

Naw my cpu is fine :)

Whoever said about forums, yes a lot of them are very similar especially PHP forums....which u need a special server for!

I know its not my pc and not my connex cos im on 600k....

My college is on sum ridiculous bandwidth and its the same there....

Doesnt take ages to load, just longer than other forums i use, so probably only me noticing it :?

college probably use a T3 or a T2.

sometimes novaload is quicker than others, I have noticed but never that slow that i would say it was noticably slower than i other forums i use.

no mate the UK has T3, T2 and T1.
a mate of mine used to work for a place that did something with them, selling them or something. Maybe we dont don't have it anymore... but we certainly used to.

and i know we have T1 as it's what we have at work.
