Found this while being generally bored. lol

I've actually nearly finished my set since this, I got a refound urge to get them done after the most recent thread. The only problem I'm having is that when sanding them down the filler sands down quicker than the plastic leaving a visable line when painted.

Anyone else got or in the process of making a set?

use a sanding block.. or just a piece of wood with some sanding paper taped/stapeld/glue'd/welded to it.

I cheated and used an Orbital Sander, hense the line but I'm intending to use these as templates for a Fibre glass mould. These should be tidier and easily rubbed down evenly if needed.

try a different brand of filler, something thats not 'easy sand' or quick drying.

Tis ok, was his own stupid fault
Still, life goes on

Dod
28-08-08, 12:38 PM
Loggy, its ok, the line is only visable when painted so when the FG Copys are made it'll be more gradule and not as notable. Primer might even bring it out.

28-08-08, 12:53 PM
yeah, i found that when adapting my stereo mount for the lexus, i did loads of coats of primer then wet and dry'd it down to as even as pos.

What happened?

Stoo
28-08-08, 01:26 PM
Basically, he used to be in the air force with me.
Left the RAF as he decided it wasnt for him, moved back home to his family and struggled to find work.
Fell in with the wrong crowd, ended up dating an ex heroin addict, and using soft drugs.
Found dead in her bed, by her daughter, after OD'ing on her Methadone that she had left in the house, that she no longer used.

Poor kid, such a kind and gentle lad and so much wasted potential.

Dod
30-08-08, 09:45 PM
Ok, just finished a set so Happy Days. They're not perfect but they fit nicely and will suit the Fibreglass moulds which means they can be tidied a bit more when finished.

I painted them Green as it was the only paint I had in the garage at the time, note the line I mentioned above, and yes theres runs in the paint etc but thats because YOU TOUCH YOURSELF AT NIGHT!!!

Enjoy and comments welcome.
