Those panels are the ones I sold him, and I got them from Duick when he popped over last year (or early this year - I forget)

cheers mate yea she's pretty tidy just a few scabby bits to get rid of new vinyl and paint i want all the underneath white and get everything else powdercoated and we will be getting there.

well thats staying as it is ive changed my mind on a roll cage though but i still have all the interior just incase but i love the striped out feel and having less passengers ha . Every car i have will have only to front seats lol

i was intending on polishing this beter than before but the head gasket went on the engine currently in the sr!! when i removed the rocker cover and discoverd a cam lobe was knackerd!! so instead off changing cams around i just whacked this cam housing/cam on!!

Yea mate lets hope not my mate that had the red one had the same problem was very rare you seen him driving steady because he loved the sound of the 40's lol If you ever needed to find him, you just had to go to the petrol station and he was quaranteed to be there lol (I acctually met him in the petrol station, thats how i know him lol )

yea it is p*ssing me off but they will be fitted soon!! yea i think i had mate ive taken the t cut to it now so it looks right and not patchy like it did on the gte!!

but no been round to the guy's house a few time's since i first spoke to him and he's not been in but ill speak to him again soon as its litteraly less than a minute away from my work!!! but the lad had bought it to build himself but i may be able to get it!! but yea he was going on about how good condition it was for its age and how rare it was but as i was off work id gone up in my car so i got him to peak over his hedge!!! lol

fuel pressure regulator on the way she is going to be sounding very mean very soon!!!

yea they are but john h sent me a pic off his sport manifould and thats got square ports dude let me go check my spare head lol

as i thought mate its for a 1.3 its the same shape ports on there and i asked john h before i went to check and his sport manifould is the same!! i also pulled my 40's out and checked that manifould lol same aswell cathedral shape ports not square you had me worried for a second though lol

well got my fuel pressure regulator last week pictures to follow!! the 40's will be on very soon!!

well spent many hours solving problem after problem fitting the 40's pulling fuel pipe off the gte wraping plumbers tape around the coolent pipe in the manifould to stop it leaking ect ect lol after many hours it came to starting it and it wouldent go! it was getting late so we decided to leave it untill tomorow!! it just wouldent start we took stwo plugs out and they were dry as a bone we couldent smell petrol at the back box either so its something with the carbs or pressure regulator but well see tomorow! i realised we fitted the presure regulator wrong i read the instructions after we need to mout it away from heat and vibration and we made a braket that bolts to a manifould stud lol!! but as i say well see tomorow after ive been the touring car and watched city stuff the scum hopefully lol well pictures untill we started to get p*ssed off follow!!

by now i was getting too p*ssed off with a consatnt barage off new problems to take any more pictures but hopefully in the next few days there will be a video off them running!! all this and its coming off the road to be stripped for resto in less than a month lol

yea hopefully ill get it going tomorow matel!! id have taken more pictures but we got too into getting it done geting through the constant barage off problems lol! there all mounted up they just need sorting and getting to run now and i need to moove the fuel pressure regulator because we never read the instructions pmsl well get it sorted though!!

right then we got it going two days ago but it was late so we had to pack up for the night as it was loud lol!! so then yesterday we starsted trying to find out why it was idling so high and why it was misfiring!! some thinking and resarch later we found that you need to advance the ignition timing hopefully one problem solved!!

then again we were thinking why the idle was set so high. then i remeberd that the car the 40's came off had a cam and 4 branch which depending how lairy the cam was could make it idle sh*te this could be the reason!

but when my dad gets home which is not long we will be adjusting the ignition timing and try and get the idle down but were only adjutsing the idle screw as im hoping they dont need setting up as they came off another sr!!

i only want to try them out for a few days thats why im not having them set up properly yet! as the tax runs out next week the cars full resto sould start and the carbs will get mounted to the origional engine so i dont see that much point lol!!

yea theres a gasket on lol ive had a bit off a check for air leaks but it all seems ok!!

right today when we started the car we could tell it was running on two cylinders so we had a look to see if the jets in the 40's were blocked they were bone dry! but the filer to to the side off the union was full off fuel!!

we tried covering the carb and reving it to see if the pressure could pull the bloackage through!! wel tried blowing the jest out all sorts!!

after a wile we took the top off the carb and tha chamber was also bone dry!! then my mate found the culprit the float was stuck he pushed the pin in and a bit off fuel rand down it!! we knew we were in buisiness!!

put it on fired her up and took her for a spin just round the block!!

after this i adjusted the ingition timing and sorted the idle and we are ready to roll!! the brakes arent to good though but im thinking its not a good seal into the brake servo!!

quicker than before mate but the carbs need tuning now it still idle pretty **** but its the definately the carbs ive had the same thing before with a shagged pooberg!!

yea its the seal mate but into the servo i wiggled it about and they have gone back to how they were sh*t but at least im not verging on bending the brake pedal lol

but yea im loving the 40's they f*cking rule!! honestly they sound even beter when there on your own car (and thats hard) lol

yea i know they are matey one off my pals has one 167 brake thats not been so bad to him!! i just want something thats fast without having to take a spanner to it!! id build a xe nova just cba lol its one off those things mate ive allways had a real soft spot for the old 5 turbo i know they like to go bang but i feel the need for one!!!

got to love the old 5 GTTs, and yeah they go like stink, a mate of mine had a 140 brake one, but they eat head gaskets like theyre going out of fashion, good fun though...! torque steer like a bia*ch...! loving the SR wudgey, that be what i be aiming for, but smoothed gloss grey bumpers, seen it done by an old mate of mine and they look the daddy when theyre all glossy... im also going to stick a laguna splitter along the front bumper, because 3 " off the ground just aint low enough..! and i might get an old GTE bumper with the little bulgy bit in the middle, and GTE skirts, sleeper-ish subtlety... nice!

yea i was but i had a 15 stone mate in it lol and the carbs need setting it pulls right through the red now but it used to die out after 6 with the peirberg!!

i didnt rev it out in second either changed just over 6!!
