Right some may remember i was suffering with premature disconnection from my wireless network, have tried loads of crap to fix it and nothing, mate whos right into networks etc played to but still kept disconntecting randomly.

Yesterday i bought some anti virus as had a close call with some dodgy porn and since running the av its not disconnected once (usually every 5-10 minutes).

Is this possible or just a massive coincidence?

Wireless is a pain.

At a a guess, you probably had a virus or some sort of malware on the PC that the a/v software picked up. It could have been causing excess network load. This is just a theory though...

Usually if a wlan connection keeps disconnecting it's interference from other WLAN's (could be using same channels etc), electrical equipment could interfere especially Blutooth, mobile phones, microwaves etc

The new standard 802.11n should stop some of the interference from electrical devices I believe as it's on a completely different spectrum.

Thanks guys, is very strange but still going strong without disconnecting.

Another thing was it was only on that wireless network if i use my laptop round mates houses etc never a problem.
