Rat look nova on cover allegedly.

Rat look is totally toss IMO. There is meant to be that awful white Astra estate off Mig and a white Corsa with a rusty bonnet and nasty wheels in there too.
The Nova is on here as well somewhere, guy was going to do an illegal engine conversion on it IIRC.
proper rat look.... ie big powerfull yank muscle car with crap bodywork is cool. but to deliberately make your car look crap is ghey!
Rexy and I have come up with a new "look" to take the world by storm... provided he plays ball lol
Cool, I'll check it out as my girlfriend normally buys Fast Car.

I think rat look only works where the car is genuinely ratty, or could conceivably be that ratty. So a corsa B with a sanded bonnet is not Rat look IMO, neither is a matt black nova. A rusty camper or old beetle works with rat look IMO, a MK5 Golf doesn't. :thumb:
Personally think its all gash however!
Just bought it. Satin Black (poor paint) GSi with Cav SRi Fan blades and the centre Bonnet section sanded and Rusted. Why??

Rat is only cool on old muscle and air cooled dubs usually, natural rat is OK. You have to respect all of the the type 1/2's that get used every day and just happened to be rat because they never get took off the road for a full resto.
Doing it to a new car sucks balls. That Corsa B thing is atrocious, as is that posers mk3 sh!t box estate. WHY WHY WHY?!
Just looking at these cars as we speak. The Corsa just needs the bonnet painted to make it look the Part, the GSi Nova is just a Matt Sprayed Rot Box and the Astra is, to say the least, Disturbing.
Im guessing these are the ones that were at pvs this year then, i think the corsa was in hull on sunday at a motorshow organised by the local cruise site im a member of, we had the wortec supercharged VXR8 too lol
I actually like the Astra best.
rat look is only cool if you pull the car out of a lake and then slap in an engine big enough that threatens to rip the car in half everytime you floor it.

the only car on that cover that deserves to be there is Jimmy's Corsa, even that has went down hill - was cooler when it was a hot rod influence with the red wheels and painted bonnet - his chequered wheels look gash.
the nova, is just a rusty nova with **** on the roof - end of, it doesnt even warrant a discussion - its an embarrassment
the astra is more a piss-take of rat look, than actual rat look (i hope) if its meant to be serious, then all it is is a waste of a nice set of wheels.
the mind boggles to why people think theyre cool driving what is essentially a shed! GTF.

Please, take your superior attitude, and your rusty shed, and get the hell out! pick up anything that falls off on the way out too.

Burgo hit the Nail on the head perfectly.
For the Astra, I'd have it, dump the complete interior and the Porche wheels, fit 15" Steels, 2 buckets and a front cage. Then an insane power plant like an LET and send the power to the rears.
The Nova is jua a poor effort at anything and the Corsa wants the bonnet painted and reclassed as a show Car, not Rat.

Waste of a mag cover IMO.
Like Oli says, its one thing an old car being ratty but putting all your time, effort & funds into making something look crap is simply a no-brainer.

Actually, I've a Corsa A with a C16XE in it. Its dented, Maroon Paint faded very badly, 15" Steels and a broken Rear light. I have no intentions of sorting it until I get a Snow Plough either. Is it Rat look?

i like the rat look if its for real, the astra on the cover imo is kinda ratty but the nova is forced which is just stupid and the corsa just has a rusty bonnet so i dont even class it as rat.

Just had a browse through the link to the corsasport thread (cheers, TIDGE) give him credit, he has put some work into that car! How much filler, too much! Its given me some ideas on how to complete my Nova now anyway...
Also that thread reminds me why i dont go on CS alot, a mod had to clear up the thread, in other words remove negative posts!! FFS not everyone will agree when it comes to car modding, get over it!

Fair play for doing something different, they got a mag feature out of it! Yeah i suppoose you have to do it properly for it to look right. I personally dont like it. But thats modding for your, its not for everyone!

dubbers will see it and laugh @ the vaux's trying.. with hoodride/rat. As said those 3 mentioned are jsut miles away from pullnig it off.
shame really when there a good few vauxhalls/opels about that pull off the usually-vw owned euro/cleaned look...
that schmit rimmed black calibra @ pv, the corsa, astra and nova loon @ billing etc etc
That black Calibra has been around for ages. Looks very cool :)
