There's one of those ****ty Laser/323 things mate. You say you have seem them with the bonnet scoop, that would mean they are TD, again no pics of the Isuzu motor but we're getting closer lol - If you still care enough to want to see a pic. I know I do lol

It is basically a 4WD Mazda 323, with a 1700 Isuzu TD engine in it.
I'm just trying to find a pic of one with the bonnet up.

Are they 4x4? If its an Izussu (sp) Engine, then it'll have a box with the same bell housing and mounts as the XE Engine....

I can confirm that yes, the Madza 323 circa 96 Model, 4dr Saloon did indeed come with an Izussu 1.7 TD engine as found in VAUXHALLS.

Unsure if they were in 4x4 though as they also came in 2.0 Diesel as well.

The DVLA check says the one I saw was a 1700 mate, Has to be the same motor, There's a bit of info floating about online also saying 1700 4WD diesel.

Na, you could just stick a TD Lump into a 4x4 GSi. Its pointless and the engine'd boil and sh!t itself after about 20 seconds.
