Full story is there, as are pics I took. It may be of (slight) interest on here considering the engine it is running. It has me baffled lol

Ah yeah, I know them. Theres a long ugly sports model called the Ford Laser Capri. Very Retrooooo.

It looks like the Madza 323 and round about the same time the Madza 121 and the Fiests were identical, bar 1 or 2 small things. Looks like a US based motor, but owning a Madza 323 they are fantastic engines although they're let down by everything else. lol

They reckon it shouldn't be running an Isuzu TD lump though! Horrible car, just peaked my curiosity! I know about Familia/323 GTX/GTR and would have broke it for parts if it was a petrol turbo lol

The 121/mk4&5 Fiesta reminds me that my mate always wanted the electric slide back sunroof for his fez from one and could never find one lol

Yeah, just a pic I found on Google dude. TBH it doesn't really matter, just giving them an idea of what the motor looks like that the lad claimed it was running.
I asked them if there are any links between Isuzu and Ford/Mazda but no answer on that and from what I can find they don't seem to share that engine lol
I didn't think it was possible to mate the 17TD lump to a 4WD system either?
Weird stuff like this gets my interest Lol

Shame the back lets it down IMO. Front end looks a bit like the offspring from a mk3 Escort and an AE86 to me lol

Any knocking about over your way that are for sale mate? I found a tx3 on an import/export site and it only worked out at 700ish GBP before shipping. I thought it would have been at least double, given what they are. I think my mates Familia GTR was about 17/1800 GBP. Still nowt!

It doesnt however mention or show pics of the actual diesel engine but we have quite a few Madza 323s locally with that particular scoop on them.

Yeah I'm digging for pics of the engine still. Is it true that you can run the Trooper exhaust manifold/turbo on those engines?

You need to pop a bonnet lol see what's underneath mate! If they have the scoop then they probs have an IC too.
What is strange is that the one I saw had a TMIC - could just see it through the hole.
But all 17TD Astras/Cavs have a small FMIC?

Didnt they have TMICs? I dunno mate.

I think the trooper stuff fits on alright but thats as much as I can tell you, that and the 17TD lump doesnt like to be tuned as it'll warp all day long!!

Mine warped just from losing a hose lol. Oval pistons aren't for winners.
No TMIC on it either. As you sy though, maybe some do some don't lol
