Xe are different.
Also, you shouldn't just be changing the cam cap, because they will have worn matching with the head side of the bearing, hence if they wear, the whole head is scrap.....

Bugger, didnt think of that. Ive stripped the thread in the midle (the one that holds the cover on). Looks like im better drilling and tapping it bigger.

Thats not what you call a cam cap is it? I thought the cap was the bit under the cam?
What bit do you mean ste? the bit with the 2 bolts thru it?

Yes thats a cam cap.
Ste-Change it if you want to do it, might be fine. But theres a reason why you have to keep them in order and refit them to their original place etc when you remove them ;)

Bit of a risk, dont like maybe's. What happens when you put fresh shells (bearings) under the cams? Are you supposed to replace the caps aswell?

The cam caps are line bored which makes them matched to the head. You shouldn't swap the caps or even change their placement.

Best case, things wear out faster or the cam runs out of true, worst case, the cam picks up and snaps.

Without a full set of original caps a head is as good as scrap.
