c20let running extremely rich!!

I have a let in a nova which i have just got running but is running very rich as it black smokes from start up and continues to smoke. the turbo is fine so im putting it down to fueling, the exhaust is very sutty and the engine runs erratically.
Could anyone give me any suggestions please.
