engine problem

building up the Rev's hits about 4800 then shuts off straight to 0 in a blink of an eye back up and revving hard

any one suggestions

Check your earths in & around the engine bay. good starting point)

Does the rev counter needle jump & go to zero when it happens?

i was doing about 70mph private road 4th gear building up the revs hit 4800/5000 and the rev counter needle hit the 0 rpm for a split second hesitation back up to 5000 then pulled hard

checked all wires earth straps etc all fine

did the ecu light come on? If so it may of recorded a fault

no light nothing very strange plugs leads and a good service me thinks

for the rev counter to drop off, it would mean the power went off for a second or two, check main loom wiring & earths, possibly ign switch is getting worn
