View Full Version : sump bolt torque settings

can anyone help please just had a look through the search and got some torque settings up coombsey put 15nm for the sump bolts which was brill but the confusing bit on the sbd link was a dry sump ally sump and steel with all different settings mines just had a rebuild 4000 miles ago and one corner of the sump is leaking mines a 2.0xe so which sump have i got sorry to babble if that makes any sense cheers:confused: :thumb:

or just do them up by feel..... its not that much of a challenge.

Best way to get them to seal is to put a bead of RTV (or similar) sealant around it, nip them up, then tighten further the following day.

Tightening the bolts when the sealant is wet/new simply oozes it out so theres practically none left between the gasket & sump.

all sorted i knew that it was ally but is the dry sump ally to didnt want to over tighten the bolts thats why i wanted the torque settings no point in haveing a torque wrence if u dont use it cheers lads
