I currently have a 1.2 nova and am looking to replace the engine for more power. Would a 1.4 engine easily fit into my nova ? I have an 87 D reg.

I'm looking to do the same and one of my mates has done it and goes in no problem but there are a few wires u don't need to use if the 1.2 engine was single point injection.

1.4 will fit straight in, but you will need to use an f13 gbox.

The earlier 1.2/1.3 novas use the f10 gbox, and the bellhousing is smaller.

everything else will fit ok

I'm thinking of doing a similar mod in the next few months - spoke to a mechanic m8 of mine who said best to change boxes if u have a 4 speed box (mines a 4 speed on a 1.2 mk2) - something to do with gear ratios and power/torque etc.

I just nodded like a sheep at that point...

I recebtly removed an Gearbox off a 1.0 likely to be f10, i drive a 1.4 SR likely to be f13 cr. I don't think they're the same. best go with a f13.

the 1.4 sr comes with a f10 box NOT f13

I'm wanting to put in the 1.4 16v engine from the corsa, insurance is the same for the 16v as the 8v, but will I have to put in a 1.4 SR wiring loom or will the 1.2 loom be ok to use ???
