i just dropped a c20xe coil pack engine in 2 my nova it turns over fine but it wont spark, i lost my ignition module so bought one off ebay but it wasn't stated if was from a distributer or coil pack engine. does any1 know if this will cause it not 2 spark if its from a distributer model:confused: . cheers
Dizzy xe's dont have an seperate ignition module like dispak ones do.
Does the fuel pump switch on when you turn it over?

just took my crank sensor off, the outer black sheath is melted exposing the inner wire sheath, which doesn't look 2 healthy. will try get my hands on 1 2moz and see wat happens.
I have a crank sensor for sale, £15+ post
Also check the thin single black wire near the coilpack as this needs to go to ignition, quite often missed on the coil pack engines when conversions are done.

yeah black wire connected 2 ignition live on car loom, its gettin a good 12v wen ignition turned on. gonna try this crank sensor, am guessin the inner wire sheath is used as an earth, mine all white and corroded.

i would go for the crank sensor as the main option, but don't skimp with second hand ones!

if ya have a permanent feed to pin 27 of the ecu and a switched to pin 18 it should run. feed em direct if they havent, then just crank it and it should run.
any pics of the ign live wire, as i can't find it near my coil pack, and dont want to hook up the wrong wire.
thanks

i gave up on my coil pack engine, put a distributer engine in and it started first turn of the key. i've got a brand new coil pack if any of you guys wanna try that.

sounds to me you have a dodgy ground, im guessing your live is being sent were it shouldn't be since your crank sensors frazzled...check the ignition module, gearbox, engine and alternator are all grounded properly;) Also check the ht leads are in the correct firing order amd the fuel lines are connected the right way round:thumb:
