I have a 1.3SR which i am breaking and i want to put the 5 speed box on my 1.2 that has a 4 speed one, how hard is it? Am going to have to remove the engine? Will it be worth it?

If you choose to go ahead I'd reccomend removing the engine. It is possible with the engine in the car but it depends on your facilities and how much time you've got.

I'd say that if you get yourself a willing m8, decent set of tools (inc BIG hammers) and a manual you could get it done in a day.

The only thing I'm unsure about is the compatibility of 4Sp to 5Sp. I think you can but I'm not too sure.

The box will fit in OK, support the front on good stands, undo the lower ball joints and pull the driveshafts. put a jack on the sump (with a block of wood to save damage), undo the mounts, cables, wires and gear linkage. lower the engine and undo the bolts. Use Haynes for reference.
YOU MUST USE THE 5 SPEED GEARSTICK ASSY. they are different.

The biggest pain is when you reconnect the gear linkage, but the haynes procedure is correct.

You will get a bit better acceleration but lose top end speed.
Also use the SR speedo.

Should be done in an afternoon
