right guys and girls,i have a slight problem!the problem being that i visited the scrap yard tonight to find a astra van with a standard set of vaux alloys, which i want .ive now got the problem of removing the locking nuts!!!the tool is not in the van to get them off!! and the guy in the scrap yard gave me a box of spares to try tio which none of them fit dam it.:(
the methods ive tried so far is bangin a 21 mm socket onto them the first time i cracked my facom peice, then i was given a snap-on piece of the guy in the scrappers, which also cracked!
has anyone got any tips on how to get these off without buiying a removel kit as im not sure how long the alloys will be there???????????
the nut is round, not hexagonal with three groves on the out side
this piece here is a very close match:

im not going to provide an answer on here so that any joker can use the information to start stealing someones wheels.
anyone with some reasonable mechanical savvy ought to be able to work something out themselves.
get an impact socket and hammer it on as you wont crack one of them fella.

try using a bar and give it a good solid whack against the locking wheel nut you could use an extension bar from a socket set do this few times then try using a socket on it like you have already done. we quite often get them off like this at work.

yes a impact socket would do the trick, hardened black socket, put abit of heat on them but be careful not to damage wheels

Take all the other nuts off and rock the van from side to side - eventually they'll come loose.

my brother lost his locking nut key, had to get them off. so took it to wheel place and they drilled it out. job done.

screw driverin one of the indentations and knock it round thats how i got mine off, or chizle and a hammer would get them of-but if your handy to a welder tack a plate on to them and knock it round wih a hammer, lots of ways just wether you have alot of patience i dont lol
