View Full Version : Engine change
Just after a bit of advice please from those in the know about this.Ive just put a 1300 engine in my 1litre Nova,do i send off the changes to DVLA and wait on the return of the logbook before i notify my insurance company??
Or do i tell the insurance company 1st?
Any help is always appreciated
Andy
Right thanks Jack, will they still insure it even though it wont be registered with the dvla yet?
Yeah they insure it as what you say it is
So im best off ringing them tomorrow and they will change it straight away? and then send off the details to dvla??

That would be the conclusion i would draw from this thread Andy, yes.
lol They may seem daft questions and if they are i do apoligise, just never done this before and dont want to be doing anything illegal.Just want it right. Thanks to those who replied
If you think about it, you should tell the insurance company as soon as the engine is changed - if the car is sat about on your driveway whilst you wait for the DVLA to sort out the V5, technically the car isn't insured as the details on the policy are incorrect.
Its all sorted now anyway,no extra on the premium which is a bonus
Thats what i originally thought Jack but a few people told me to go Dvla route first
