De-handling problem

I know this topic has been brought up before, but i have come to a problem. I have linked up the interior door release lever to a solenoid, so when activated it opens the door. However it unlatches the door, but does not push it open, so it just gets latched again. How do you get the door to actually open?

Just install a very midly srping (could even be a bit of rubber or other compressable material, so that its constantly trying to gently edge the door open, as soon as the catch releases, it then can.

make sure whatever you use if MOT friendly. Your doors need to be able to latch shut when gently pushed. If yer device prevents them from doing this it will fail.

what solenoid hav u used for it? i ended up with 3 maplins ones cos one wasnt strong enuf. Mite be an idea to get a new door seal, mine springs open just from the push of the seal. Could work.
