I've got 2 places in mind

1)In front of the drivers suspension turret mounted horizontally

2)On the firewall in front of the the battery mounted vertically

any other recommendations? Pros and Cons etc...

Both are too far away from the tank ideally.
Should be as close as possible to the tank

Bolted to the side of the wheel well...?

Iv'e mounted mine on the inner wing, opposite the cam pulley, works fine.

The old mechanical pump is on the cam carrier, any reason why the facet needs mounting as close to the tank as possible?

They dont like "pulling" fuel.

They do work in the engine bay, but they may not last as long.

Ok thanks for clearing that up, will have a bash at putting it in the spare wheel well :thumb:

It's not so much the distance they don't like, it's the height they have to suck it up.

Spare wheel well or thereabouts is the safest place for them imo, even better is between the well and the tank above the beam.

If it's a red top, they like to be mounted vertically as there's a filter in the bottom - it doesn't filter so well if it's horizontal.

I've got mine mounted behind the driver's seat, vertically, on the small wall rising up to where the rear seat squab normally sits - almost butting up to the 'transmission' tunnel. It's local to the tank and they like to push fuel, rather than pull it. Try to mount it as low as you can - I find this usually works quite well.

I know a few people thats had problems with them mounted in the engine bay..

Much better idea is back near the tank, Theres actully space in front of the tank on the chassie!

as jon said, where ever you mount it, you should mount your facet upright as per the one in the engine bay above, otherwise the internal filter wont be functioning properly, or at all, whch can lead to premature failure:thumb:
