Seeing as I will be running a fancy ge****t in the near future and already have an ATB diff, I thought it'd be worth getting some fancy gearbox oil. I've always used Vauxhall stuff before, so does anyone have any recommendations or advice? I was thinking of one of the Silkolene jobbies, as I use their engine oil and it seems ok, but i get confused with all this hypoid talk  http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-427-silkolene-gear-oils.aspx

I've got Syn 5 in the vx.... its great once warm but a complete whore when cold (even in summer).

With the ATB you dont need a "fancy" oil like you do with a plate diff.
if you feel keen you could try Royal Purple MTF (or MTX cant remember exactly). The yanks love it :D Think there is only one official supplier in the UK if you google it
