i was in my bay this mornig as seen this , im wondering does this wire have to be bolted onto the altanator (sp) , so do it just put a botl through the wire and that metal part and onto the altenator ?

as above ^ just bolt it back on.

It's the alternator's earth because there's rubber bushes in the other end of that metal adjuster.

is it about 6" long ish ? looks like it might be the alternator to inlet manifold earth strap. connects to one of the alternator bolts and the other end on one of the far inlet manifold studs close by the alternator.

edit: yeh like iainel said, alternator side connects to the alternator adjustment arm, where the rubber bush is at.
