With the talk of Flux and a few others being cheap but poo.
Who are the 'good' insurers?
For the background, I'm 23, have 2 years NCB, clean license, held for 5 years, various mods on a 1.2, but the only performance related one is brakes.
I found Churchill to be good when dealing with someone driving into the back of me.
Admiral are good for customer service, but I've never had to make a claim or anything with them so don't really know how "good" they are - of course you don't know how good an insurance company is until you have to make a claim (take note anyone who thinks that because the guy on the end of the phone at quote time chatted to you like you were his best mate. Thats just a marketing ploy to get your cash lol)
Both Churchill and Admiral can handle modifications. Elephant are usually cheaper than Admiral, but my sister had a customer service nightmare when trying to make a claim through them.
CIS were rubbish - had incorrect details about me and my car, and lied to me and stung me for extra cash when I fitted a bodykit to my car, and generally didn't seem to have a clue what they were doing (not for the first time either, according to their underwriters), BUT this was probably about 5 or 6 years ago now so they've probaby (hopefully) changed.

Well, flux can't quote me my renewal for another week because they're calculated 3 weeks in advance apparently.
Churchill won't insure anyone under 25 with a modified vehicle.
Admiral seem very competative. £419.36 paid monthly for 12 months, me, all mods declared, both parents (out of convenience, not to attempt to bring the price own) and my fiance who's only had her license 1 year :).

Hmm, that must be a recent thing then as they covered my Celica in 2006 with mods (me being 23 at time of renewal).

I phoned up Flux this morning to cancel the renewal... "Well I've not heard that we're not good when it comes to claims!". Funny that.
Just waiting for the paperwork from Admiral to come through now :).
Well ive come to the simple conclusion that they're all a set of wanekrs
