Not entirely.
Basically yes.

But lets have the oil return for the turbo etc.

imo you could use an let block to build an xe but would have to block the return oil hole in the block

there is one local to me. it would be cheaper than re-boring my block and getting new pistons.

well the hole is 1/2 bsp so you will just need a bolt with that thread and a cooper washer i guess !

The chances of the LET block your buying not being bored/honed is slimm too. They are 15 year old engines!

Tbh as Keith said.
Id get your own engine done, as then you know its 100%

If you buy another block,it could have shagged big ends and piston rings.....
And youd have to fit xe pistons anyway....
So may as well rebuild yours

I am rebuilding mine. ive had the whole bottom end balenced and lighened at autosprint in birmingham. the only problem is the block has a hell of a lip on the bores.
if i buy a good block with minimal wear (like the one i have found) i can use all my internals and my head (which is flowed and ported.)

if i go along the route of re-boring mine it could be another £300 on top of the build that i can do without

the block ive found is a bare block.

have you seen the block, if not theres no way of telling how worn it is.

yea ive decided to just bite the bullet and re-bore my own block. ive got plenty of time to get it sorted!

i priced up standard pistons up at £265 so im gonna pay the extra and get some forged ones
