right, a quickie. this might be a daft question, i so - let the ridicule commence:

ive got my doors back from the painters, and have them hung on the car and now im starting to put all the locks, handles, glass etc in. i have electric windows and was wondering how you secure the motor/arm mechanism back on? it was riveted on on the old doors, and my new ones came bare. suggestions?

you could try small nuts and bolts but I suspect they are riveted on for clearance of the moving parts, I riveted mine back on, surprised you don't have holes in the new doors! Are they new from factory or bought second hand?

Rivets, or use some long, thin bolts and cut to size.

if you cant get the gm rivets make sure you use big ones - the mechanism exerts some big loads and when I did mine 1st the rivets I used (piddley ones) sheered off!
